Comic review-Collection of ONE PIECE-

Hello everyone. Today, I found a nice comic book at a convenience store. It is a collection of ONE PIECEThis is my most favorite comic series. It's a very popular comic series in Japan and many countries. The comic was published volume one to volume seventy five from Shu-Ei Sha. The story is about pirates, but it's not a savage story. There are so many amusing, emotional scenes and exciting battle scenes. I don't know how many times I read it and I was so impressed by this comic.

This collection comic surveyed fans. There were ten episodes that fans answered the survey about, "What's your favorite emotional scenes?", I think it's a nice collection comic, so I bought it immediately.

These scenes are some of the emotional scenes in this collection. I also like them and I was moved to tears even after reading many times. If you don't know these scenes and story, it's not a problem, because there are explanations about the story for each of these scenes. If you know them, you'll be satisfied with the content.

In conclusion, I think, it's a really nice collection for fans. However, some of the scenes explanations are not enough for people to understand if they are not fans, but I really recommend this to everyone! I also recommend to people who are interested in  ONE PIECE, but who don't have enough money to buy the whole comic series. The price is 540 yen, so it's cheaper than buying all the comics that are included in this collection.

Thanks for reading.

Comic review-KICK-ASS-

Hello everyone. Today's topic is a comic book. I like comic books, but I've only read Japanese comic books, so I tried to read a comic book in English. The comic book  is KICK-ASS, whitch is a popular American comic. This series was made into films, so you may know the story, but I didn't know about it. Actually, today's review might have many mistakes, because I tried to read it without a dictionary, so I may have many misunderstanding.

This comic was published in 2008 from Titan Books and the authors are Mark Miller and John Romita Jr.. The story is a superhero story. I thought this comic would have a super hero who has a supernatural power like other superhero comics before I read this comic. However, this is not a common story of a superhero. The outline is, David is a ordinary high school student who is a main character. He really likes superhero comics and he wants to be a superhero and he actually tried to be a superhero, but in reality is different of superhero comics, so he felt down, but he didn't give up, he tried to continues. The other characters also don't actually have supernatural powers, so I was little bit surprised. I felt there were many indecent words and I thought the illustrations were radical representations. I don't care about these representations, but some people may not like them.

I like Hit Girl, who is one of the main characters in this comic. She is only a kid, she's but really strong. She kills so many villains with two swords. I found some a movie trailer on YouTube with scenes of Hit Girl fighting in the film. Please check it.
It's really cool! I want to watch the full movie, so I'm going to go to the video shop one of these days.

In conclusion. I think the setting of story is nice, it's fun. I prefer stories where characters have supernatural powers, but this comic is good. The practical setting is interesting. And fighting scenes are cool, especially the Hit Girl fighting scenes. Mostly it's good, but I can't recommend it to everybody, because the representations are not good for children or people who don't like radical representation.

Thanks for reading.

New Japanese App-NARUTO-

Hello everyone. Do you know NARUTO? NARUTO is very popular Japanese Ninja comic story. Not only in Japan, but also in foreign countries too, so many people know and like it. Now, I'll introduce a nice app for fans of NARUTO that SHUEISHA released recently that can be downloaded for free. This app updates one episode every day (seven hundred episodes) and one TV animation episode on every Monday and Thursday (two hundred twenty episodes). Actually, the comic serialization finished in Weekly Jump magazine this week. You can buy the comic data if you can't wait for updating. Also you can get new information, about NARUTO in addition to the online episodes.

Though it is a really nice app because you can download for free. It's awesome! I really like NARUTO, but I've not read all the comics yet, so I wanted to read them all. I didn't have enough money to buy all the comics, but then I found this app, so I downloaded  it soon and I was so happy! The episodes are seven hundred, so it will take me about two years to read them. Probably, it might too long, but I don't care.

The comic series is finished, but a new movie is going to come out in December. If you're going to watch it, I suggest you review NARUTO's outline before watching the new movie on this app.  Some people  might not be interested in this app, but I want you to  try and download it once. You may like it more than you expect!

Restaurant review! -Gyugin-

Hello everyone. Today, I went to a Yakiniku restaurant Gyugin. This restaurant uses Japanese black beef from Yamagata, so the prices are expensive. However, at lunch time, the prices are reasonable! Of course, they serve yakiniku lunch (1,030~2,800 yen), but this time I ate the Cheese Hamburg lunch. I was lucky, because the hamburg menu is popular and they seve only 10 a day. This hamburg also uses Yamagata Beef, so the taste is really delicious, I felt happy. I like this hamburg sauce too. If you are hungry, you can set refills of rice and soup. The price is 950 yen, so it's reasonable price for lunch.

There are 90 table seats. They are never closed, so you can go there any time! You can make a reservation by phone or internet.

Not only the food, but also the atmosphere and service are good. The atmosphere is calm, so I passed my time leisurely. The staff are kind and they pay careful attention to customers all the time, so I was satisfied. I want to go there again and the eat dinner menu, someday.

Japanese band-Gesu-no Kiwami Otome-

Hi everyone! Today's post is a music review. Recently, I bought some CDs of Gesu-no Kiwami Otome, a Japanese band. They got second place ranking of the most popular musicians for university student, so I was interested in them. They formed in 2012 and they  debuted this year from Warner Music Record company. They've released one single CD and 4 albums. If you want to know more about them, please check the their official website. Yesterday, they released their latest CD album, but  I didn't buy it. I bought a single CD "Ryoukitekina Kiss-wo Watashi-ni Shite (With a  bizarre kiss as me)" and 3 albums "Dress-no Nugikata (How to remove the dress)", "Minna Normal (Everyone is normal)" and ""Odorenainara Gesu-ni Nattesimaeyo (Be a low fellow, if  you can't dance )". I think, each title is unique.

Their music genre is progressive rock and hip hop. These songs are cool and have unique sounds! Especially, the bass guitar sound is really cool! I didn't know them until I bought their CDs, but now I like them. Actually, I play the guitar, so I want to cover these songs someday. If you've never listened to their songs, please check YouTube where some of their songs are uploaded.

If you watch this music video and you like them, you should buy it at a CD shop! All CDs are not expensive. These price is about 1500 yen and the new album CD is 2200 yen.

A convenience store's sweets -Pumpkin taste sweets-

Hi everyone! Autumn has come and the temperature is getting colder day by day. Today's date is October 15th, so in 2 weeks, Halloween will come!! In Japanese convenience stores, there are sales of many kinds of new sweets that use autumn flavors like sweet potato, chestnut and pumpkin. Especially, pumpkin flavored sweets are the most popular in convenience stores. I think the reason is that Japanese people think pumpkin is representative of autumn.

Today, I bought a pumpkin cake at Seven Eleven. The price is 250 yen. Look at package of cake. You'll notice a Halloween design: a  ghost, bat and Jack-o-lantern. This is a sponge cake with pumpkin cream. The taste is a nice pumpkin taste and the texture is very fluffy! I like this cake! An amount is enough for me and the price is not expensive, so I want to buy it again. How about trying it if you find it at Seven Eleven?

I also bought another item, Kinoko-no Yama-Creamy Pumpkin Taste-. This is a time-limited new flavor of the Kinoko-no Yama series. Do you know the Kinoko-no Yama series? This is a very popular confection sold by the Meiji company. This series has another confection series, Takenoko-no Sato. There are made from chocolate and biscuit. Kinoko-no Yama is shaped like a mushroom and Takenoko-no Sato shaped like takenoko (takenoko means bamboo shoot.). The price is 307 yen. The flavor of this is also good pumpkin taste, so I like it, but the amount is a little bit much for one person. I suggest you eat it with someone.

Movie review! -Mindscape-

Hello everyone! Today's post is a movie review. I like to watch movies, so I often go to the cinema. Recently, I watched a new movie, "Mindscape (Another title is"Anna" but the Japanese title is neither of these.)". This movie was made by U.S and Spanish filmmakers and directed by Spanish directer Jorge Dorado. This movie released it on this year in Spain and U.S. Japan also released in September 27th. The movie's genre is psychological thriller. It stars Taissa Farmiga and Mark Strong who act the main character roles.

Summary of the story
Anna and John are the main characters in this movie. Anna is a 16-year old girl who goes without food. John is an investigator who has the supernatural ability to enter other people's memories.

One day, John contracted a new job to investigate the cause of Anna's fasting and to feed her something by using his ability. It was not difficult job for him. However, while he investigated her memories he found out Anna may has been involved in a big case. From there, the story is develops rapidly. That's all I can give you for now about the summary. If you care about the continuation of that story, please watch the movie at the cinema.

Here are the movie's trailers. The top trailer is an English trailer. The bottoms trailer is in Japanese. I prefer the Japanese trailer, because video editing is better than the other one I became interested in this movie when I watched the trailer.

Finally, I'll tell you my impression after I watched this movie. Actually, I was excited about the story, but I was really disappointed by the climax, so it was very unfortunate. I think if the climax was differently. this movie might be very nice story. However, this is just my impression, and other people might like it. If you are interested in this movie, please watch it and tell me if you feel disappointed or if you were satisfied.

First review! -Nihonjin no chotto henna eigo-

Hi! I'm Daiki. I'll post reviews of various things on this blog. For example, movies, comics, restaurants...etc

My first review is a comic-book review! The comic title is 「Nihon-jin no chotto henna eigo (In English, A little bit strange  Japanese English)」. This book was published in 2012 by Asukomu  Corporation. I bought this book during this summer vacation. When I went to the bookstore, I happened to find it and I was interested in the title, I thought "I may also make strange mistakens  in English. I need to improve my English knowledge!!" so I decided to buy it.

This comic's author and main character is David Sain. He has taught English to many Japanese people in Japan for over 25 years. He has published other books about English, so you may have some of his books. This comic introduces many mistakes in  English made by Japanese people who are studying English in his English schools as well as other mistakes in English that he found in Japan. Apart from these stories, he also shows how native speakers react to these mistakes. I realized how many mistakes in English I made.

I think many Japanese people need to read this book and improve their knowledge of common mistakes. Actually, I improved my knowledge and I got new insight. This book is not serious and not too long, but it's really good for Japanese people especially those who are studying English. It's also easy to read for people who are not good at English. This book sometimes introduces aspects of Japanese culture that David noticed "It's difficult! It's strange! It's funny!" and more. For example, Japanese people can slurp soba and other noodles, but he can't do this well, so he feels "It's difficult for foreigners!!". These stories are also interesting.

I'm happy if you become interested in this book. Thanks for reading!
